KNOW YOUR COLLEAGUES: INTERVIEW WITH KASI GUILLOT
What attracted you to performance improvement/human performance technology/the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI)?
In 2015, I decided to pursue my graduate degree. I knew at the time that I wanted to ensure that the program I selected would provide me with the knowledge and skill set to ensure that I was prepared for 21st-century education needs as well as a solid foundation to solve organizational challenges. I pursued a program that focused on human performance technology because I appreciated the value of a model that leads to improved and increased performance and productivity through a series of stages of analysis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. My program chair, Dr. Nancy Hastings, introduced me to ISPI, and I actually joined as a student. I remained in ISPI postgraduation because I feel like I found a home with like-minded people who just want to make things better. To be involved in an active community has profoundly positively impacted me in my professional life as well as I’ve formed relationships with so many amazing people that have added value to my personal life as well.
What is some of the work you are most proud of?
I am most proud of the work with the ISPI Community Service Project [CSP]. I was fortunate to serve as the project lead for the CSP in New Orleans [NOLA] and Nashville, and the experience of assisting local organizations with the performance issues and provide them with the tools and resources they need to be successful has truly been a rewarding experience. Most nonprofits cannot afford to bring in a consultant to assist them with their organizational challenges, so being able to have an opportunity to help is a truly rewarding experience.
When people speak/think of you, what do you want them to say/remember?
Well, aside from my smart wit and charming personality, I hope that I am thought of and remembered as someone who just wants to make things better. I feel it’s important to always come from a positive place of service to others, and I do strive to ensure that my motives and actions reflect that.
What do you do and/or are doing now? Where you can be reached?
I am currently an LLC partner and chief analytics officer for Central Creativity, an education resource company. It was created as a resource center whose mission is to increase the critical and creative thinking skills in our youth. We work with elementary, secondary, and postsecondary schools and organizations throughout the country to improve student outcomes, strengthen classroom engagement, and promote workforce literacy. We believe that communities are only as vibrant as the learning opportunities that take place within them, and we are honored to support their growth.
Short Bio
I have over 20 years of experience in higher education administration, specifically in graduate medical and public health education. In 2021, I was provided the opportunity to become a partner with Central Creativity, where I serve as chief analytics officer as well as focus on our higher education products.
I am very active in my NOLA community and am a member of a local Mardi Gras Krewe, The Jamettes. We are actively involved with many local nonprofits who serve those in our community. To be a part of a group of amazing women, continue to dance, and also be able to provide assistance with local nonprofits has been such an amazing experience.
I also proudly serve on the GNOrocs [Greater New Orleans Region One Center] Regional STEM [science, technology, engineering, and mathematics] advisory committee. This committee serves as an advisory board to promote STEM and workforce development in the Greater New Orleans area. As a committee, we are dedicated to fostering economic advancement and educational opportunities within our community. Through strategic initiatives and partnerships, the committee have spearheaded efforts to enhance STEM education and youth services, empowering the next generation with the skills and resources needed to thrive in a competitive global landscape. By bridging the gap between education and industry, we’ve worked to create pathways for young people to pursue rewarding careers in STEM fields, ensuring they are equipped to succeed in a rapidly evolving economy.
